Problem with Turning ON

  • Press and hold the power button present on the front of device. Apply pressure and slowly leave the button once the device is turned on.
  • There are chances that your battery is either depleted or dead. If the device hasn’t been used recently or left ON for a longer time, then chances are high that it requires to get connected to a power source to charge. In case, the device still doesn’t start even after plugging to a power source, try replacing the batteries.
  • The power ON issue might be because of a loose or bad microSD card. Try removing the card or inserting a new card.

Network Issues

  • When the device is turned on, it takes time to receive new data as the ephemeris data gets old. Giving 15-20 minutes to your device to get the networks can help to resolve the network issues.
  • Resetting the device by selecting ‘new location’ in the menu can also resolve the network problem.

Blank Screen with a Single Line

  • Turning off the WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) can temporarily resolve this issue. To turn off the WAAS, go to main menu (press the menu button twice). On the rocker keypad, press ‘setup’ and then press ‘enter’.
  • However, this issue was resolved in version 2.60 of Garmin GPS, go to Garmin website to download the latest firmware.

Power OFF while using

  • When the Garmin V device receives shocks because of external movements, it results in shaking the batteries. However, this issue can be resolved by the use of a spacer to hold batteries or by taping them.
