  • Start with rebooting the computer. Also, make sure that all the applications and programs are loaded properly on your computer.
  • If still Garmin Express program is not able to find your device, check if there are any loose USB connections between the GPS device and computer.
  • If connections seem to be fine, make sure to not to use any extra hub.

Note: It is important to check as most of the hubs only transfer power, not the data.

  • Make sure to use Garmin recommended cables only to connect your Garmin device to your computer. In case, your computer cannot find the Garmin GPS device, try another port.
  • To get better connectivity, you should connect your GPS device to the ports provided at the back side of the computer.

Note: The reason is that the ports built at the back side of the system give the maximum data transfer rate.

  • In case the issue doesn’t seem to be resolved, check the data cable. And if you find it damaged, immediately replace it and get a new one.
  • You shouldn’t forget to check with the GPS unit port if it is working properly or not.
  • And then, make sure if the Garmin GPS device battery is properly charged. If it isn’t, you will keep facing the error.

Note: If you see a blinking light near the battery icon on the GPS device, you should plug it into charge for at least 10-15 minutes and then try again.

  • Also, respond properly to any prompts shown on the GPS device.
